Robyn Park Freiberg
With over 20 years of experience in workers’ compensation, Ms. Freiberg regularly advises insurance carriers, claim professionals and business owners on litigation and claim management, loss control, the interplay between personnel and human resources with industrial injuries and risk management concerns. She litigates the nature and extent as well as compensability of industrial injuries, 132a and Serious & Willful claims. Recent litigation has resulted in an injured worker “taking nothing” on her claim and a 95% reduction in a penalty award.
Her clients include prominent third party administrators, international and global manufacturers, corporations, retailers, school districts, hospitals, cities and municipalities, transportation companies, transit districts, restaurants and small businesses. She has filed successful Petitions for Reconsideration, obtained Take Nothings, conducted jury trials, and argued in front of and filed briefs with the Court of Appeals.
Ms. Freiberg is also a former claims examiner affording her an insider and informed perspective on claims handling including reserving and addressing employer concerns. As she has also worked as an Applicant’s Attorney, representing union employees and litigating Class Action and Wage & Hour lawsuits, these experiences together give her a unique 360 degree view on effective litigation and the development and execution of preemptive strategies.
Ms. Freiberg received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a minor in Law & Society from the University of California, San Diego in 1996 and her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego, School of Law in 2002. “Robyn is the best workers comp attorney I have ever worked with, period. Workers Comp in California is many things – costly, frustrating and a financial & administrative burden on any organization – amongst other things. But Robyn listens, and then helps you navigate through all of it with precision, toughness and passion. Maybe Robyn’s greatest strength is her ability to be creative and think outside the box in the area of the law where that isn’t always easy to do. She is excellent at identifying issues and working with all the parties to resolve them in a manner that allows her client to meet its goals. Her skills are exemplary and impressive, and I consider her to be a top professional in her area of the law.”
